NED is a non-for profit, non-partisan and indigenous non-governmental organization officially established and re- registered by the Charities and Societies Agency on 7 October, 2009.
The main objectives of the organization are to contribute for the advancement of food security, education and sustainable development, in the project sites. Ever since its establishment, NED was undertaking a number of projects that brought noticeable outcomes and significant impacts.
These projects include Women and children support with Especial Emphasis to HIV/AIDS and HTPs, alternative basic education (ABE) and family based primary education assistance (FBPEA), Early marriage prevention and victim support program, Women/Girls participation in education, HIV/AIDS and social change Education in Adult literacy Centers, Nutrition Education project, Improved Self Help Capacity of PLWHA.
The base line surveys on Education, capacity building, Food security and climate change and Economic development which were undertaken by the organization and issues, which were raised by the community during the continuous monitoring and evaluation activities, were also taken into consideration.
